Delegation

Delegate a stream,
not your password.

Give your assistant, teammate, or family member access to specific accounts — your channel, their stream. Zero password sharing, full audit trail.

The Password Sharing Problem

Your assistant needs to check your work email. Your partner wants to keep an eye on the family account. Your team lead needs visibility into the support inbox. The old way? Share your password, set up auto-forwarding, or sit together at the screen.

Sharing passwords is a security risk
One shared credential exposes your entire account
Auto-forwarding creates duplicates
Messy forwarding rules and no shared context
No audit trail
When everyone uses the same login, who did what?

How Delegation Works

Three steps to secure email delegation. No passwords shared, ever.

1

Invite a Delegate

Enter their email address and choose which connected accounts they can see.

2

They Sign In Separately

Delegates use their own InflowMail account and password. Your credentials stay yours.

3

Read-Only Access

Delegates can read and search emails from the accounts you've shared. Revoke access anytime.

Permissions

Exactly What Delegates Can — and Can't — Do

Delegation is read-only by design. Your delegate sees, not controls.

Who Uses Delegation?

Executive Assistants

Give your EA read access to your work email so they can triage, flag important messages, and keep your schedule in sync.

Small Teams

Share the support inbox, sales inbox, or team mailbox with your colleagues without everyone logging into the same account.

Family Members

Let your partner see the shared family account, or give your kids supervised access to their school email — no password sharing needed.

Audit Trail

A Complete Record of Every Access

Wonder if your assistant checked that important email? The audit log shows every read, every search, every action taken by each delegate — with timestamps. Built-in accountability without the awkward conversation.

Going on Vacation? Hand Off Your Inbox.

Taking two weeks off shouldn't mean coming back to 2,000 unread emails. Delegate access to a colleague before you leave, and they can triage your inbox while you're away. When you get back, revoke access with one click — no passwords to change.

Delegation FAQ

Can delegates send emails as me?
No. Delegation in InflowMail is read-only by design. Delegates can read and search emails, but they cannot send emails, delete messages, or change account settings. This protects you from unauthorized actions while still giving your team the visibility they need.
Is there a complete audit log?
Yes. Every action a delegate takes is logged with a timestamp — which emails they read, what searches they performed, and when. You can filter the audit log by delegate, date range, or account. Logs can be exported as CSV for compliance purposes. Available on Pro and Power plans.
Can I limit access to specific folders?
Currently, delegation is at the account level — you choose which connected email accounts a delegate can access. Folder-level permissions are on our roadmap. In the meantime, you can control access granularly by connecting specific accounts (e.g., only the support inbox, not your personal account).
How many delegates can I have?
Pro plans support up to 2 delegates, and Power plans support up to 10. Each delegate uses their own InflowMail account and password — your credentials are never shared. Contact us if you need more delegates for your organization.
