Transparency matters. Here is exactly what happens when you connect an email account.
You sign in to Gmail or Microsoft directly. We receive an OAuth token — never your password. Tokens are encrypted with AES-256 and stored securely.
Our sync engine fetches email metadata (sender, subject, date, snippet) and optionally email bodies. Sync runs every 30 seconds when you are active, less frequently when idle.
If enabled, email metadata is sent to your chosen AI provider for priority scoring and categorization. Results are stored locally. The AI provider does not retain your data.
Email metadata is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. Email bodies can be stored in the database or in S3 for cost efficiency. All data is encrypted at rest.
Disconnect an account or delete your InflowMail account and all associated data is purged within 30 days. We do not retain backups of deleted data beyond this window.
